A season with the 2018 Ford Mustang GT begins

The greatest rivalry in autodom rages on, and we'll spend a few months with a top contender.

The Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have been going at it since the Bowtie joined the pony car fray in 1967, just a few model years after the Mustang created the segment. For more than a half century -- ignoring a small truce in the early 2000s -- Ford and Chevy have been dancing the anything-you-can-do-I-can-do-better routine ... a little horsepower here, a little more handling there and so on into 2018. Ford refreshed the sixth-generation Mustang this year, adding 25 more hp to the already-robust 5.0-liter V8 for a round total of 460 hp -- conspicuously 5 hp more than the Chevy Camaro SS.
