For Sale: 1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 (white, 289ci HiPo V8, 4-speed)

This 1966 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 was sold new at Universal Motors in Akron, Ohio, and was modified for drag racing in the 1970s while with its original owner, with whom it remained until 1991. A cosmetic refurbishment in 1990 consisted of a repaint in white with blue Le Mans stripes as well as replacement of the front fenders and driver’s door, and the car subsequently spent time with owners in Ohio and California. Power is from a replacement 289ci HiPo V8 from another 1966 GT350, which was fitted in 2018 and features a reproduction exhaust system. Additional work performed three years ago included refinishing of the frame, floor pans, engine compartment, and rear end components. Equipment consists of a four-speed manual transmission, front disc brakes, 14″ alloy wheels, hood pins, rear brake cooling ducts, racing-style lap belts, a Sport Deck rear seat, and a dash-mounted tachometer. This GT350 was acquired by the selling dealer in 2019 and is now offered in New York with an owner’s manual, period photographs, SAAC information, judging sheets from the 2018 SAAC National Convention, service records, Shelby American sales documents, and a clean California title.
