For Sale: 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (Acapulco Blue, 428ci V8, 3-speed auto)
This 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 is one of 1,020 fastback examples produced for the model year, and it was built on February 19, 1968 and subsequently delivered to Ford’s Home Office. Power comes from a 428ci “Police Interceptor” V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in Acapulco Blue with white stripes over black vinyl upholstery. Features include a tilt-away steering column, a Ford AM radio, power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, and the Interior Décor and Visibility Group packages. The car was reportedly part of the John O’Quinn collection before it was acquired by the seller in November 2011, and work in 2021 included service of the air-conditioning system. This GT500 is now offered with a Standard Marti report, a maintenance log, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
