What’s Under The Hood Of This 8-Second ’65 Mustang?
This 1965 Ford Mustang makes an easy 8.48-second quarter mile at 158 miles-per-hour. This thing runs fast and hard and has no trouble burning some serious rubber on the starting line, but this orange Australian hot rod is hiding something really interesting under its hood.

It turns out the powerplant is a turbocharged 4.0-liter, six-cylinder engine. The Aussies know how to do it when it comes to six-cylinder builds. In this case, Tunnel Vision built this beast up with a 3.8-liter engine that they stroked to 4.0 liters with Tunnel Vision billet roller rockers and manifold; a Garrett GTX45R turbo running 42 pounds of boost; Halchet platinum electronic fuel injection; a 4-inch exhaust, and a Preston Powerglide automatic transmission.
