Sly Fox 1984 Ford Mustang SVO
The Ford Mustang SVO was introduced in 1984 and designed to give Mustang more of a European flavor. The SVO featured stiffer springs and suspension bushings, Koni shocks, special bodywork, and 16-inch wheels, and for the first time on a Mustang, four-wheel disk brakes.
But the biggest difference was the engine, a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-4. It was supplied with 14 PSI of boots via a AiReasearch turbocharger, which made for 175 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque and the capability of propelling the lightweight coupe to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds, with quarter-mile time of 15.8 seconds, both strong numbers for 1984.
