The Legacy Continues: Meet the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
Carroll Shelby, an American racer and entrepreneur, transformed the Ford Mustang into a dominant road racing machine. In 1967 he took his legendary Ford Mustang GT350 model further to craft the first-generation Shelby GT500 with a modified 428-cubic-inch V8 inspired by his teams finish at Le Mans.
Shelby called the original Shelby GT500 “the first real car I’m proud of.” Today, the legacy continues with the third-generation 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
The 2020 Shelby GT500 is poised to be the quickest and most powerful street-legal production Mustang. Ford hasn’t shared the official power figures but says it will produce over 700 horsepower.
