Arrested Development.

One of the biggest misnomers in Ford pop cultural vernacular is using "Fox-body" as a descriptor for 1979-1993 Mustangs. Those in the know are well aware that Fox is the name of the platform and the sheetmetal, a.k.a. body, is just window dressing. After all, the Fox platform served as the foundation for everything from Mustang to Fairmont and Thunderbird to LTD.

While the genie is definitely out of the bottle on that body-centric nomenclature for Mustangs, the other Fox vehicles shared little in the way of "body" similarities. They certainly shared the same underpinnings, however, which allows for a lot of crosspollination of parts between vehicles, be they stock or aftermarket bits.

As the Fox Mustangs are seeing a value renaissance driven by their growing value on the auction circuit, lovers of the widely used platform may start to look elsewhere for that next Fox project. Case in point is William White, who picked up this 1985 Ford LTD, which once served as a Florida State Trooper patrol car.
