Hoonigan and Ford Performance Working Together to Build the Ultimate Street Car
If you’re a 1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra purist, you may want to turn away. If you like modified Mustangs, no matter the model, keep reading. In our eyes, Mustangs were built to be driven, they were built to be enjoyed. The men and women from Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) really meant for their creations to be put through their mechanical paces. We’re not sure if SVT engineers care about date-coded hoses or clamps, or “matching numbers,” but we know for sure the guys over at Hoonigan aren’t concerned with any of that stuff.
What the Hoonigan crew is concerned with are hour-long burnouts, donuts for days, aggressive exhausts, and lots of horsepower. Sure, you could probably accomplish all the above with the existing Cobra engine, albeit with a supercharger and other supporting mods. However, as everyone knows, Hoonigan isn’t about that life so the stock Cobra engine has been pitched in favor of a Ford Performance Aluminator 5.2L XS crate engine pumping out 580 horsepower.
