For Sale: 1983 Ford Mustang GL (Desert Tan Glow, 3.8L V6, 3-speed auto, 66 miles)
This 1983 Ford Mustang GL hatchback was delivered new to Bob Townsend Ford of Shawnee, Oklahoma and reportedly remained in the dealer’s personal collection until 2004, when the car had 60 miles on the odometer. At that point it was sold to an individual who added three miles and retained the vehicle until the selling dealer’s acquisition in September 2020. Now showing only 66 miles on the odometer, the car is finished in Desert Tan Glow over a Walnut cloth and vinyl interior. Power comes from a 3.8-liter V6 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and other equipment includes turbine-style wheel covers, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio.
A November 2020 service consisted of rebuilding the carburetor, recharging the air conditioning, re-coring the radiator, flushing the coolant and brake fluid, as well as replacing the fuel tank and filter, the spark plugs, a vacuum hose, trunk struts, a driver-side headlight, and a neutral safety switch. This Fox body is now offered with a Deluxe Marti report, a copy of the certificate of origin, manufacturer’s literature, 2004 transaction paperwork, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oklahoma title.
