For Sale: 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback (Poppy Red, 289ci V8, 3-speed auto)
This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback was purchased by the seller’s parents for his brother in 1965, and it resided with his parents from 1972 through 1993, when the seller took possession of the car in California. It was refinished in Poppy Red in 2018, and additional refurbishment work that year included a rebuild of the C4 three-speed automatic transmission, a replacement radiator, a rebuilt carburetor, an ignition tuneup, replacement Hankook thin whitewall tires, and a brake system overhaul including replacement master and wheel cylinders. Power is provided by a C-code 289ci V8, and additional equipment includes a 2.80:1 limited-slip differential, a push-button AM radio, a Rally-Pac gauge cluster, and a Sears under-dash air-conditioning system that was installed in the early 1970s. This Mustang fastback is now offered with service records since 1993, a car cover, an owner’s manual, its dealer order sheet and invoice, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
