For Sale: 1969 Ford Mustang Race Car (427ci V8, 4-speed)
This Ford Mustang-bodied race car is said to have been built using a 1977 NASCAR road racing chassis and 1969 Shelby Mustang-style steel and fiberglass body parts. It is powered by a small-block 427ci Ford V8 paired with a Jerico Performance Products four-speed manual transmission and a Detroit Locker rear differential. It is finished in navy blue and white with #88 roundels and features two fixed-back racing seats with Simpson harnesses, an onboard fire-suppression system, and a full roll cage.
The seller purchased the car in 1990 and completed the build in 1992. It has since been campaigned in Sports Car Club of America, Vintage Auto Racing Association, and Historic Sportscar Racing West events at tracks including WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Sonoma Raceway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Auto Club Speedway, and Willow Springs International Raceway.
A 1986 USAVE 25′ enclosed trailer will accompany the vehicle and features three axles, electric brakes, an onboard generator, fluorescent lighting, a work bench, and a storage cabinet.
This Mustang race car and enclosed trailer are now offered with four spare Bogart Racing wheels, 10 spare Hyashi Racing wheels, 16 spare tires, some fiberglass body molds, spare sets of coil springs, a bill of sale for the race car, and a clean California title for the trailer.
