For Sale: 1968 Ford Mustang Speedster (427ci V8, 5-speed)
This 1968 Ford Mustang was delivered new as a coupe and was acquired more than 25 years ago by the seller, who converted the car to a speedster. Over a period of fifteen years the roof was removed, the exterior was media-blasted, the windshield was shortened, the chassis was reinforced, and a speedster clamshell was molded into the bodywork along with a Shelby-style hood, rear spoiler, taillight panel, and side scoops. The car was refinished in blue with silver stripes, and the interior was refreshed with Recaro bucket seats, Sparco harnesses, and a Kenwood sound system. Power is supplied by a fuel-injected 427ci V8 paired with a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes an Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, Magnaflow exhaust, 17″ Team III wheels, lowered suspension, Baer disc brakes, a roll bar, chassis bracing, a Grant steering wheel, and AutoMeter instrumentation.
