This 1988 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 SSP (Special Service Package) Coupe was reportedly used by the California Highway Patrol from 1988-1994 and was acquired in 2014 by its previous owner, Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, from whom it was purchased by the current owner in a 2018 BaT auction. Power is from a 302ci Ford Racing V8 crate engine paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 3.55:1 Torsen T2 differential. The car has been repainted black and is fitted with carbon fiber wheel flares and a Saleen front air dam. Additional modifications under previous ownership include Mustang Cobra independent rear suspension and disc brakes, Bilstein springs and dampers, Delrin suspension bushings, Recaro seats with custom upholstery, a roll bar, 18″ HRE wheels, and more.
