For Sale: 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Restomod (Patrick Dempsey, "Terminator" V8, 6-speed)
This 1965 Ford Mustang fastback restomod was built by Panoz Auto Development and JRD for actor and racer Patrick Dempsey over the course of 3,900 hours and 2.5 years. The project was completed in 2008, and Mr. Dempsey is said to have spent approximately $300k on the vehicle in total. A number of components were sourced from both the S197 and SN95 Mustang, including the supercharged 4.6-liter V8, Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission, portions of the suspension and brakes, and some interior items. Panoz reportedly used computer-assisted design and custom molds to develop a series of components including front and rear crumple zones and integrated side-impact protection. Equus Automotive Inc. bought the car from Mr. Dempsey and updated the interior and exterior as described below. It has been kept by the current owner for the past three years and ~500 miles. This Mustang restomod has been driven approximately 8,500 miles since the initial build and is now offered by the selling dealer with a build guide and a clean Utah title.
