2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Testing on the Nürburgring
Ford's newest Mustang variant gets pushed to its limits on the Green Hell before its launch.
After years of rumors and teasing, Ford finally relaunched the Mustang Mach 1 earlier this year. With a 480-horsepower version of the GT's 5.0-liter V-8 mixed in with heavy duty cooling parts and a bunch of performance upgrades, it's set to be another wildly track-capable version of the Blue Oval's pony car. So it only makes sense to see it testing on the Nürburgring.
'Ring regular Automotive Mike on YouTube managed to snag video of not one, but two Mach 1s lapping the Green Hell during a recent industry test pool session. One car is painted grey while the other is coated in a bright yellow. Both have Mach 1 badging, specific Mach 1 fascias, and sport the Mach 1's side and center racing stripes.
Ford says deliveries of the Mach 1 aren't set to begin until Spring of 2021, so it's likely the engineering team is working out the car's last few dynamic tweaks before finalizing things like engine tune and suspension design. Though the cars don't seem to be going particularly quick in these clips, they do sound great.
