This 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR convertible was built on July 15, 1968, and was first sold by John Bearce Ford Inc. of Washington, Illinois. It is said to have moved to Nebraska and remained under original ownership until 2014, when it was acquired by the second owner and refurbished by Mike’s Classic Cars of Elkhorn, Nebraska. It was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021. Power comes from a rebuilt 428ci “Cobra Jet” V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in Wimbledon White over vinyl upholstery. Features include a power-operated white soft top, a 3.50:1 Traction-Lok differential, heavy-duty suspension, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, a tilt-away steering column, a Ford/Philco AM radio, and the Interior Décor and Visibility group packages. A new battery was installed and an oil change was performed in March 2021.
