For Sale: 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R 5.4L V8 Engine (385 HP, 15K miles)
This 5.4-liter V8 engine is said to have been removed from the seller’s 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R in January 2021 to make way for a race engine. The quad-cam powerplant was factory rated at 385 horsepower and consists of a long-block assembly with an induction system, an alternator, and a power steering pump. This Cobra R engine is said to have approximately 15k miles and is offered at no reserve in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania.
Ford produced just 300 examples of the Mustang Cobra R for the 2000 model year, and each was powered by a 5.4-liter V8 that was factory rated at 385 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 385 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine features a cast iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, dual overhead camshafts on each bank, and four valves per cylinder.
This engine was removed from a running Cobra R at 15k miles according to the seller. Retained equipment includes an intake plenum, throttle body, fuel injection system, and wiring harnesses.
