Jeff Johnson Jr's 2014 Ford Mustang GT
Jeff Johnson Jr’s Mustang Story:
“Back in 2017, my 2014 Ford Mustang GT ran like a stick shift bracket car running low 11s for a total of around 450 combined eighth and quarter-mile passes. During the 2019 winter season the car went under the knife for a Tremec T56 Swap, Billet oil pump gears, crank sprocket, and turbo install. The next two years brought on struggles but after a few adjustments and the help of Lund Tuning coming back on board to tune the car, there's been a night and day difference. This year has brought loads of success. We've had personal best runs on both prep and no-prep surfaces. We ran a few local point series races where we finished runner-up in an index class, finished 3rd in a stick shift series, and were fortunate enough to win the Hoosier No Prep points series Stick Shift championship. The car has made its best pass at NMRA Bowling Green running 10.1@141 mph. Not bad for a car that is 3800 lbs at race weight. I love what this car has become and it has fueled the motive for the next build. Currently under the knife for chassis work is a 2000 Mustang. While the engine plans keep bouncing between a Coyote or a Windsor-based engine, one thing for certain is that it will have a third pedal.”
