This 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR is one of 1,053 “King of the Road” fastback models produced during a three-month period from May through July of 1968. The car was built in May and delivered to Alberta, Canada, where it was sold by Healy Motors LTD in Edmonton. A refurbishment was completed in 2014, and the car was acquired by its current owner in 2020. Power comes from a replacement 428ci Cobra Jet V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in Raven Black over black knitted vinyl. Additional equipment includes a 3.50:1 Traction-Lok differential, front disc brakes, replacement 15″ alloy wheels, and power steering as well as air conditioning and the Interior Décor and Visibility Group packages.
